Those who have purchased tickets among others, may have heard the news that the BacZac a Night to Remember event has been moved to the 13th January 2018.

Anyone who’s brought a ticket and hasn’t been contacted by a BacZac His Legacy representative, please feel free to send us a message on here with any concerns or queries you may have.

Unfortunately Beau and his talented array of friends were struggling with the timing of the event on the 3rd November.

With that in mind we’ve taken the decision to move to the new date of the 13th January 2018. Our main aim is to make this night as special as last years, this extra time means it will be even better than before.

Tickets are on sale for the new date NOW, so get buying! Let’s see in 2018, which looks to be a big year for BacZac His Legacy, with a fantastic evening.

Charity Sky Dive

For Zac’s 18 birthday he received a gift that allowed him to complete one of his many ambitions in life, a tandem skydive. In his honour and to raise funds for the BacZac His Legacy fund on the 16th August 2016, the day after what would have been Zac’s 21st birthday, Bethan (Zac’s sister), Lucy (Zac’s Girlfriend) and Jasmine (Zac’s Cousin) will be completing the same journey he did 3 years ago.

Zac battled with 2 rare forms of cancer, during which a campaign was put together to support Zac and his family with the challenges that lie ahead, known as ‪#‎BacZac‬. Sadly Zac lost his fight earlier this year but as we look to continue and create a legacy for him to be proud of we have now formed the BacZac his legacy fund, where his family and others who were involved with the #BacZac campaign look to support families in similar positions, along with supporting the charities that helped Zac and his family.

Anything you can sponsor is greatly appreciated and we thank you for any donations you give. Click here to donate.

Bethan, Lucy and Jasmine.

Thank You for your Kind Messages of Support

Thank you everyone for all your love and support. We are overwhelmed with all your wonderful messages, posts, texts and really love looking at all the pictures you have posted of Zac. Some of them we have not seen before and it makes us smile. Please keep posting up the pictures of Zac.

He was such a lover of life and it’s lovely to see those images of him enjoying life to the full as he did.

We have spoken to the consultants looking after him today as we had so many questions. We can let you know now that they said:

‘Zac fought and fought and kept fighting with so much energy and courage right until the end.’ He had the wrong body, a body that had too many illnesses to overcome and in the end the cancers and the combination of all the harsh chemotherapy that he was having was a battle that was impossible to win.

The operation to address his chest tumor had to be postponed and then timing was against him. He became too ill to have his stem cell transplant. Eventually, due to the effects of chemo and possibly his leukemia returning – he bled in to his good lung on Saturday.

We would like to say an enormous thank you to Nottingham city hospital, and all the staff on Fletcher ward, Hogarth Ward and lastly the critical care team. Every one was so kind. Especially we want to personally thank the Doctors who tried their hardest to help Zac: Dr Ivo Hennig, Dr Rohini Radia, Prof Russell, Billys house and the Clik Sargent team, our lovely GP Dr Tiffany Crawford who looked after us the whole way, and of course Rebecca and Sian of the TCT team who’s support and advice was not only encouraging but comforting.

We will announce in the next few days details about the funeral and where the book of condolence will be.

Thank you all so much again. Words cannot express how grateful we are to you all. Love Jason Helen and Beth.

Update – Postponed Surgery

As you know my operation has been cancelled, but my bone marrow transplant process has been moved forward to Monday when chemotherapy will begin.

Luckily for me, my sister is a match for the transplant which is great news.

I’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who leaves messages, wears the hats or even ‘likes’ a post on Facebook; it’s all a boost for me and my family.

Update – Postponed Surgery

As everyone might know Zac was expected to have his operation today. Unfortunately due to his low platelets and blood count this was not possible as the consultant and surgeon agreed it would be too dangerous.

They have made the decision to go ahead with the bone marrow transplant in 2 weeks to include more chemotherapy and a transplant from his sister .. They have estimated he will be in hospital for around 4 weeks with a recovery time of around 3 months after this he will then have surgery to remove the tumour.

Can we please say thank you for your kind messages and support that we have received today and that Zac is still smiling 🙂

(29/02/2016)

Update – Planned Surgery

The family would like to post an update on Zac.

Today Zac met with his surgeon and various other doctors and professionals to have scans and pre operation tests. His platelets and bloods are low but with transfusions prior to the operation it should still go ahead on Monday the 29th to remove the large tumour in his chest that is pressing on his lung and heart.

The operation will take up to 6 hours with some unknowns, where he might in a worse case scenario loose his right lung.

After the operation he will be on the high dependency unit in Nottingham city hospital for up to 5 days.

We will keep you updated on Zac’s recovery also when he is up to having visitors.

The family would like to thank you for the continued interest and support and to tell everyone Zac is still smiling ..

(18/02/2016)

Update from Jason

Hi everyone,

Just to bring you up to date with how Zac is getting on.

Zac was able to be home for Christmas & New Year and was able to get to the Saints match on NYD :).

He finished 8 weeks of chemotherapy for his chest tumour 10 days ago.

A week ago Zac had to spend 2 days in NGH as he had a nose bleed that would not stop but after a platelet transfusion and 3 bags of blood he was able to come home.
Yesterday was back to Nottingham for a CT scan and a Bone marrow test and also 2 more bags of blood. The CT scan was to determine how big an operation he needs on his chest, which will hopefully take place in the first couple of weeks in February.

After his recovery from the operation (which could be 12 weeks) it will be back to the Leukaemia, but we will cross that bridge nearer the time!

The support that you have given Zac and our family has been and continues to be amazing! Thank you so much.

Jason

An Update From Zac’s Family.

Zac and his family would like to give you all an update on Zac’s progress…

Some of you might have seen Zac out and about over the last 2 weeks which is truly amazing as a month ago the family did not think this would have been possible or even be home for Christmas.

He is still receiving chemotherapy in Nottingham, 3 times a week up until the middle of January and then he will meet with his consultant to discuss surgery and the next steps.
The family are emotionally overwhelmed with all the support and kindness and cannot thank everyone enough.

They would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

A huge THANK YOU

Again Zac and his Family want to say an enormous thank you to everyone who has offered help and support to them as a result of their house fire. A boiler has been donated by Glow-Worm through Danny Mackintosh at Travis Perkins! Builders are busy getting their house back to being liveable, and a wonderful lady has let the family have the use of her beautiful lodge at Overstone for as long as they need it.

This is a wonderful demonstration of a community coming together to help each other, and as a committee all members working with #BacZac feel that there are indeed some wonderful people in this world, who’s generosity and concern actually do make a huge difference! Thank you everyone!!

Update on Urgent Appeal for Help! House fire at Zac’s house.

Thank you all for your amazing support and offers to help Zac and his Family. The Forskitt family are today looking at a lodge in Overstone, so fingers crossed that will be somewhere they can stay and be together up to and over Christmas, and then until their house is habitable. We have had amazing people come forward with building skills etc. So hopefully the house will be fixed ASAP. Zac and his family feel overwhelmed by the support they have received. A real perfect example of a community coming together to help! We are very proud to be part of this campaign. Thank you all so much.

Urgent Appeal for Help! House fire at Zac’s house.

Has anybody got a clean pet free 3 bedroom furnished house that Zac and his family can use ASAP until after Christmas? It appears the fire damage was more than first thought and their insurance company have agreed to pay for alternative suitable accommodation. Because of Zac’s chemo they are unable to stay in a hotel (public place) and are in need of a self-contained (germ free) house. Please can you message us if you can help?

#BacZac Campaign Update:

Dear All, many people will have seen a posting from Care for Cancer and that monies are being raised for ‪#‎BacZac‬… The #BacZac campaign committee would like to point out that it has had nothing to do with organising this event and monies are not only being raised for #BacZac but also MacMillan and Willen Hospice both great causes. We wish the organisers the best possible support and hope the event is successful for the organisers and their chosen charities but we felt we had to clarify our position. #Baczac will always support any fundraising but with the expense of Xmas we will not be organising any official #BacZac events until the New Year with the first being an Antony Nolan Clinic.

Thank you once again for all your support.
